The Jewish politician, industrialist and philosopher Walther Rathenau lived here since 1911. The building in Koenigsalle 65 was designed by himself and can be seen until today. Here he wrote many of his publications with philosophical, political and economic content. Rathenau in these days German minister of foreign affairs was assasinated on June 24th 1922 by the anti-semitic "Organisation Consul" at Koenigsallee, corner to Erdener Straße.
