Initially, Elisabeth Wust (1913–2006) lived in this house together with her husband Günther and their four sons. However, when she fell in love with Felice Schragenheim, who was Jewish, in 1942, she obtained a divorce. Thereafter the two women lived here together. A non-Jew, Elisabeth would later hide other Jews in her apartment.
Felice Schragenheim was arrested and died in Theresienstadt, probably in late 1944. The two women’s love for one another served as the basis for a book published in 1994, which itself served as the model for the 1998-99 film “Aimée & Jaguar”.
