Martin Krause was born on 13 September 1877 in Posen. He trained as a secondary school teacher before earning a PhD in Engineering. In 1910 he became a lecturer at the Technische Mittelschule Berlin (Berlin Technical High School). In 1934 he was forced from this post as a Jew. In 1942, he was deported by the Gestapo to the Warsaw Ghetto, where he died. One of his sons survived the Shoah and lives in Israel.
