A secondary-school teacher with a doctorate in Engineering, Martin L. was appointed to a lectureship at the Technische Mittelschule Berlin (Berlin Technical High School) in 1926. In 1934 he was driven from this post as a Jew. He was subsequently denounced anonymously for having an “Aryan” girlfriend. Most likely on these grounds, he was subjected to forced sterilization in 1936. In March of 1942, he was deported by the Gestapo to the Piaski Ghetto, where he is believed to have been murdered.
